The BBC have announced the broadcast dates for the series they were working, now called 'The Flying Archaeologist'.
Damerham features in the first programme, called 'Stonehenge' although as I understand it, it's focus is still the Avon Valley. If we're lucky, we may be featured for a minute or two. If we're
unlucky, it could be a bit longer.
The series comprises four 30-minute programmes.
Broadcast details are as follows:
On Friday 19th April, all four programmes will be broadcast at 7.30pm on BBC1, straight after The One Show - the one you see will depend on which BBC region you live in. As you'll see below, the
'Stonehenge' programme will be broadcast in the West and South regions. If you live in the South region, you'll have to put up with the bizarre goings-on on the Hoo Peninsula, Kent. I'm assuming that
all four programmes will be available on that iPlayer thing that they have these days from around 8pm onwards.
All four programmes will be broadcast again in May on BBC4, one per week like a proper series, beginning with 'Stonehenge' on Wednesday 1st May, broadcast time to be announced. The individual
programmes are:
Stonehenge - West and South; Bristol and Southampton.
The Norfolk Broads - East: Norfolk, Suffolk, parts of Essex, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Bucks & Herts + Milton
Keynes.
Hadrian’s Wall -
North and East – Newcastle and Cumbria
The Thames (Hoo) - South East region; Tunbridge
Wells.
