WEST PARK MEADOW

Damerham’s West Park Community Meadow is definitely “all things to all men” – and to all women, and children of course.

This serene green space runs along the banks of the Allen River, offering a peaceful haven for those who would like a quiet walk, to relax, and perhaps to watch riverside wildlife.  Bring a picnic, and enjoy the open air, and some summer sunshine. Your dog can come too, as dog waste bins are provided. The mead ow also has a community orchard, with varieties of fruit trees specific to this area to taste and enjoy.

There are plenty of activities for children too, from a pirate ship to a grass snake, with a tunnel at its head, and lots of other opportunities to dream up their own games and to let off steam.

HOW TO GET THERE

Start at the corner of West Park Lane outside the Village Hall. 

Walk along for a hundred yards or so, and you will see a gap on the left, just before the first bungalow. 

The entrance gates can be seen at the end of this passageway.

Alternatively, if you are coming from the Rockbourne end of West Park Lane, you will come to a green space bordered by bungalows, where another gate will let you into the meadow.
