It has its own website at:
Pubs and Pub Food
The Compasses Inn is located in Bridge Street in Damerham. It has a restaurant offering superb food and it also has accommodation available. A list of events being held by The Compasses can be found here.
Tea And Chat
Damerham “Tea and Chat” was started in 1997 because we felt that there were a number of fairly house-bound people in the village who found it difficult to get out and about, or even to meet up with their friends from the other end of the village.
We arrange social meetings, activities and outings for the less mobile and their friends.
We meet on the first Wednesday of the month, at 2:15 p.m. in the Village Hall (except our Christmas Lunch is usually earlier). We have interesting people to chat to us, or we just chat – and always a “cuppa”, of course!
Walks In Damerham
There is a wonderful network of footpaths and bridleways in Damerham.
We have a Footpaths Officer who keeps a copy of the Hampshire County Council’s definitive map of the footpaths and bridleways in the parish. If anybody has a query about where a particular right of way goes then the Footpaths Officer is able to help by advising on the correct route. If you find a difficulty or obstruction on a footpath then the Footpath Officer will contact the land owner or the County Council’s countryside service and ask for the obstruction to be removed.
If you would like to take part in an organised walk then the Footpaths Officer can put you in touch with the Ringwood and Fordingbridge Footpath Society.
If you would like to help maintain rights of way in the parish then the Footpaths Officer will be delighted to hear from you.
The Footpaths Officer has prepared some village walks, click on the links for details.
You can find details of footpaths and rights of way on the Hampshire County Council web site:
